Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

After a night of knee pain and practically *no* sleep, I went in to work this morning and saw that my assignment for the day was running the room.

Normally, I love running the room, but I was having major doubts about how my knee would hold out.

Amazingly, I did pretty well, and so did my knee. No major problems at all.

I did call my friend at the orthopod's office, and she got me an appointment on Monday with the doc that I wanted. It pays to have friends in strategic places....

I finally gave up on sleeping about 04:00 and got up and made some coffee and sat down in the recliner. I noticed that my knee didn't hurt in that position, and I almost dozed off, but not quite. I'm not built to sleep anywhere but in a bed, preferably my very own water bed, and it just doesn't seem right to sleep in a chair, although Karen does it all of the time.

This is my last night to get some sleep, I'm on call this weekend and there aren't any CT-trained people on except for the night techs, which means that I'll probably get some heavy-duty overtime, which would be OK, as long as it's not in the middle of the night. Or, if it's in the middle of the night, I just hope that it isn't on Sunday night, 'cause I have to go to work on Monday regardless....

I've been talking to people who've had the type of procedure that I probably need to have and there have been no bad experiences... some of them weren't cured completely, but that's to be expected with any procedure, and the cure rate is pretty good, as these things go.

I got a glimpse of an ad on TV tonight that brought up an old, old memory, about a show that I saw when I was pretty young, Walt Disney put out several nature shows, one of them was "The Painted Desert", or maybe it was "The Living Desert", there were two or three of them, nature movies, I remember watching them in the Esquire Theater in Enid. They really impressed me, but I haven't heard anything about them since or seen them on TV... maybe they didn't impress anyone but Okie boys....

It's a bit early, but I need to get a buncha sleep tonight....

Thanx for being here!
