I got up pretty late today, about 09:30... and I didn't get called in to do a patient until almost 17:00. Weird. There was a tech on first shift who could do simple CT exams, and there were only three of those and she had time to do them. Nobody on second shift, though... and nobody on third, either. The tech on third called in sick, and a first shift rad tech with no CT experience is filling in for her, so if anything comes in, I'm going to be going in to do it. Luckily, the hospital has a planned power outage tonight, the power was supposed to switch over to emergency power at 22:00, but it was an hour late. I had been called in to do a patient about 20:15 and wound up doing three before I shut it down at 21:50. I hung around until I was sure that everything would work on the backup power, then I shut it down and came home. The air handlers aren't working either, so I thought that it would be best to keep it off and cool, it only takes an extra five minutes to warm it up anyway. So, the hospital is actually on bypass for eight hours. Very unusual for us, it's always the *other* hospital that goes on bypass. We've got CT, of course, but no surgery suites. Yeah, that sounds like poor planning, and that's part of what they're fixing tonight. Karen went to Lawrence and got Brian this morning but he's been busy, I haven't had a chance to see him yet. Might not get a chance tomorrow, either, the way it looks. Beautiful weather here the last coupla days. I donno what's coming up, haven't heard a forecast for days... just take the days as they come..
