Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Not a bad day. Got an OK sleep and not too tiring of a day at work. Some fun stuff, even. Well, not really *that* much fun... not enough fun to waste this valuable space, anyway.

I finished up Kim's computer and took it over to her, but she and Patrick were at soccer practice, and Lacee was just leaving with Steve to spend the night with him, so I just plugged it in and left.

I'd only been home for a little while when who should appear at the door but Lisa Dunbar!

She appears to be doing well, although she is back living with her parents again. She says that she feels more like a mediator than their daughter.

It was awfully good to see her again.

Anyway, while she was here, Patrick and Kim called with questions and after Lisa left to go to her volleyball game I went back over there to fix some things... that took about fifteen minutes. When I left Patrick was downloading the Yahoo! messenger and was complaining about how slow it was, so I explained to him the difference between computer speed and modem speed. He's a pretty sharp kid with the computers (most of them are) but he's not doing very well with the schoolwork lately... he'll be thirteen this summer, and if I remember correctly (and there's no evidence that I remember *anything* correctly if it happened more than fifteen minutes ago!) thirteen is a really hard time for a boy. Maybe for a girl too, but I never was a girl, so I really shouldn't speculate. I learned long ago to never speculate on matters concerning the fairer sex... most of the time I remember that.

So anyways, I'm back to messing around with older hardware again.

And I just figgered out why I'm so tired right now... it's after 22:30 already! Where does the time go, heh? Away, that's where.

Which reminds me of a little incident at work earlier this week... one of my table-mates was talking about going deaf, and he attributed it to working with the magnets (MRI) for years. Then I said that I, too, was going deaf, and I attributed it to working with radiation for years. After a short period of reflection, I amended that to place the blame squarely on the *years* part....

Thanx for being here!
