MP3s. Gotta love 'em. And if ya love 'em, you otta share them. I usually do, and the three accounts that I have total about 250 gigs outgoing. My machines are on most of the time, and the only time that I throttle down the cable is when I need the bandwidth. When I do that, I usually just disconnect, then when I'm done with what I'm doing, I reconnect. I've got files shared over my internal network, so that if I forget to reboot the satellite, they can get through another account. Most of what I listen to are oldies, but I really like the Narada stuff too... it's mostly offbeat chamber music, I think that might be a good description. I had one helluva time getting up again this morning, although I went to bed at 22:00 last night and I went right to sleep. Had a rather dull day, which was OK with me. No excitement. My fingers look funny, but no pain any more... I guess that the pads on your fingers are considered important by nature, and they heal quickly. Like eyes... I've always been so surprised (and pleased!) that my eye injuries heal so quickly, 'cause they're so damned painful. The MB that I burned my fingers on isn't working at all now... I'd left it on after I burned myself for probably an hour or so. It might not be the MB but just the chip, so I'll try replacing it with the one from the old Compaq, see if that one works. 21:40... It's getting to be late, dammit. There is just not enough time to do everything that I want to do. But that's OK, if I actually did *everything* there would be nothing left to do and I'd get bored. Heh. Karen and I do have a project for tomorrow... gathering up clothes to give to the homeless shelter or someplace like that. Or maybe just throw them out, I don't know. Regain a lot of closet space, anyway. I really have a lot of stuff that I can't wear, and when I do get slimmer, I'll want new clothes anyway. And since I don't smoke, I can afford 'em! I wonder if Arafat is still alive, and I wonder if I really care. With him dead, will that change anything? The answer to that is... nothing is going to change while he's still living. So why not let's try it the other way?
And it does. I also put the heat sink from the Compaq on it, and it seems to be running pretty cool, and running at 266 instead of the rated 200... it's chuggin' away, loading RH 7.2. It'll be interesting to see what Linux thinks the CPU is.
