Just finished watching KU make it into the sweet sixteen with a damn fine showing, a 100% turnaround from the sorry display that they made of themselves on Thursday. The game itself wasn't nearly as exciting, of course, but my heart can only take so much, I wasn't looking for exciting tonight, and I got what I was looking for... a win, Lacee is spending the night again, I'm not really sure what the deal is here but whatever, it's OK with me, like I had any choice about it. She got a nice fairy tale book today and she's been drawing freehand from the illustrations, and doing a pretty good job of it. I'm trying to encourage her, even though she uses the wrong hand, being left-handed. I did get some stuff done today, most notable the taxes. Only took about two hours, but I always hate every minute of it. It's not the work involved, it's the general idea. Luckily, we really don't get much government for our money, which is a good thing. Once again, I didn't check off the box for campaign contributions... that just doesn't feel right, even though I know that it is probably just and reasonable. It would really be nice if that were the only way that a candidate could raise money, without being beholden to corporations and energy producers and brokers.... But I don't see how that could ever work. And I can't see the public giving enough out of their own pockets to support any kind of a campaign. I'm too much of a cynic, in case you haven't noticed.... So, all in all, it was a nice day. Even though I hate doing taxes, it's over for another year, and I do feel good about that. Except for I do have to pay some money to Kansas, but we get some back from the feds, maybe I can pay off most of what we ran up on the Visa on the cruise... on the other hand, I haven't bought a new computer since last year, and I have given three away, so maybe... I'll have to look on eBay for MBs and chips, they're making them up to 2K now, and I've only got a 0.9, thats way behind, even for me.
