Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I been wasting time tonight, mostly doing nothing but watching TV... watched a nice program on black bears, now I know way more than I'll ever need to know about them...

I got to work early, and I got off on time, another busy day. Instead of starting to snow at midnight last night, it didn't start until about 15:00, and so far the snowfall has not been impressive... Still, we're supposed to have six inches by the morning..

I have decided to end my "experiment", if it may be called that, with alcohol. It has always been in the back of my head that it was rather dangerous, and that I wasn't really proving anything but the fact that I still wanted to drink. And then today I was looking forward to stopping by the liquor store on the way home and getting a bottle of whisky and sitting down and drinking it.

Needless to say, I realized what I was doing, so I didn't stop anywhere on the way home.

Too dangerous, and no reason. Yes, I love the taste of whisky, straight from the bottle. Or in a glass, what the hell, even maybe with a cube or two of ice.

And I can happily live my life doing without it, 'cause that's what I'm gonna do.

I still believe that I could take an occasional drink, and I've proved that, so now it's time to stop, there is no need to proceed. I've proved my point, to myself anyway. Whisky is not the master of my mind, I am. And I will stay that way.

Anyway, Karen is in Wichita, she's staying with Betty tonight. Betty'll be in the hospital until Monday morning at least... turns out that she had some infection at the site of the stent, and they're growing it so that they'll know which antibiotic to use. I guess that they did "real" surgery on her this time, and the surgeon was confident that he'd fixed the problem. The only thing that worries me is that the infection was in her clavicle... bony infections are really hard to treat.

So it appears that I will be batching it longer than we expected, which means that I'll have to go to the store tomorrow....

Thanx for being here!
