This will be a better day... Karen and I called in to work. We started to go in, but we decided to not make the trip to the car. There's about 5 mm of ice on everything, and I wasn't sure that we could make the car go anywhere once we got in it. I actually got out to the car and opened the door, but I couldn't get in without hurting myself and I quit trying pretty quickly. Additionally, I do have a low-grade fever and a sore throat, which is what the people who are really getting sick start off with. However, I'm not jumping to any conclusions this time, I'll wait until I'm actually sick before I say I'm sick... I finally got the main machine working right. Win2K has many bells and whistles, and the bells have to be rung in the right order and the whistles have to be of just the right pitch. It's been over a year since I set this machine up the first time, and a lot of stuff has gone through the sieve I call my mind in that year.... A Mind Like a Steel Sieve. I like that. So anyways, yesterday's entry was put up this morning, and I felt bad about that, but not bad enough to stay awake any longer to fix things last night.... 22:45... Got Tyler's machine ready to deliver, and the desk looks bare without it. I do have a coupla old junkers that will soon be occupying that space, though... I'm gonna start playing with Linux again, I think. So anyway, it's late now, and I tried calling mom earlier and didn't get an answer, so I was going to call again, but dammit now it's past midnight so I just e-mailed her to let her know that I was going to call in the AM. I got the day off again, and JD and I are going to go to Enid together, then he'll head off to Texas on Saturday and I'll come home on Sunday. Doggone it, I'll miss the Super Bowl. O'well, I've had worse things happen to me.... And I'd better get to bed, I have to take Karen to work in the morning, she has to be there at 07:00... O'yeah, the pic today is ice on the trees, but it's hard to see and not very good, so I thought that I'd throw in a webcam shot of JD and it really isn't very good either....
Well, I'm still not sick, feeling pretty good, in fact. A nice long nap this afternoon helped things out a lot, I slept for about four hours.
