Long day today. I got up at 06:00, about a half-hour after Karen did. It had sleeted and snowed a little bit, and was mostly doing little round white balls about a mm in diameter. The roads were slick but drivable, if one could avoid the very slow people in their 4WD SUVs. The Toyota did pretty good on the slick stuff, and I even tried out the ABS system a coupla times. That was after I dropped Karen off, of course. The ABS works really well, almost like stopping on a dry road... I was really surprised. The tech who called in on Monday and Tuesday called in again today, but we thought that would not be a problem, since most of our patients would be calling to cancel or reschedule... But they didn't. Nope, they came in anyway, and damn the weather! They *would* get their CT scan done regardless! Unfortunately, we'd told the other tech to not come in, since she lives 30 miles away... And the other tech wound up doing three biopsies, leaving me mostly alone most of the morning. I had one other tech helping me, but he was sharing time between CT and surgery, so when they called him, he had to go. I was able to get away at 15:30, though, so I could pick up Karen. It had been kinda sleeting/freezing rain all day, but the roads still weren't too bad, and the traffic was pretty light... the state and city and county and schools and banks had all closed down due to the weather. This morning they were calling for 12-14 inches of snow by tomorrow, but I think that's been revised by now, since it still hasn't started snowing, it's still freezing rain, and pretty light, there's maybe 4 mm on the branches, not enough to cause a problem. But, speaking of problems... having cable trouble tonight. And I thought that this would be a good time to re-do the 900 system, reload WIN2K, it had been throwing glitches lately more frequently than it ever has. So I did that, and now it won't do the network conection thingie, so it's incommunicado... and so am I. The cable is up now, and this machine still won't connect to it, but the others on the network will. Got Tyler's machine going tonight, still have to do some modifications but it's basically working pretty well. I need to find the side covers for it, I'm sure that they're around somewhere... The next project is Kim's machine... Well, no, the next project is to get this damned thing doing right... I took the sound card out, and now the one that came with the motherboard is working well... donno whassup wit' dat... but now I can actually play music on my computer! Unfortunately, now I have to put up with all of those system sounds...
