So far, no calls. I'm not really expecting anything before 23:00 anyway, there are three techs there that can do CTs if necessary... anyway, barring a major disaster, I won't need to go in until the morning. I didn't get my paycheck today, but there was an interesting letter in the mail... from BC/BS... enumerating what they'd paid the hospital, and completely exonerating us. And pretty plainly showing that the hospital had billed us for write-offs. Which is fraud. Fraud, plain and simple... at least, until the lawyers get ahold of it. Nothing is plain and simple when the lawyers get involved. Enough of that stuff. Karen is gone this weekend, so I'm batchin' it. Working on Kim's computer, or, I should say, a computer for Kim... I'm trying to get the Compaq 200 running for her, but I'm getting frustrated with it too. It seems that nothing is going right for me today if it requires coordination or deep thought. Every time I picked up a needle today, I dropped it. Once I dropped five things while I was getting ready to do a venipuncture, including the needle three times. This was while it was still in the sterile packaging, of course. Talk about instilling confidence in your patient! Luckily, the lady had a sense of humor, and then she told me that nobody ever hit her vein the first time, it usually took two people several times apiece. Of course, I hit it on the first try. Nothing but luck... but she was appreciative. She didn't say that I knew how to impress a girl, though, like the one did several weeks ago. I would link it, but I'm too lazy tonight. It was a busy day, but I got out of there just about on time, and I was home about an hour when I decided to go to Best Buy and replace the sandisk reader that JD and I had mistakenly got last Sunday. I had to stand in line about 15 minutes, and then I really confused the girl at the desk. In order to give us the sandisk reader, they'd had to charge $.01, since it was the wrong one. They never told us it was the wrong one, of course, they just tried to figger out how to give us what they thought we though we wanted... So the lady tonight saw that they'd charged me a penny... and then she wanted me to pay the full price of the thing, minus that penny. Then she finally figgered out what they'd done and how they did it and credited my bank card with a penny... I almost stopped at the store to get milk, but I decided not too, I was too hungry and there were too many temptations, I'll go after I eat something. I think that I've been doing pretty good at not overeating this week. I've decided to not weigh myself on a daily basis but only occasionally, I don't want to get fixated on losing weight, or go through a daily discouragement ordeal when I'm not... I did just get a call, but it was just for information... we'd updated some protocols and not told everyone... almost everyone, except for the one person who had to know... ain't that always the way? I think that I'm going to bed early again tonight... it's supposed to be a beautiful weekend, high around 70F on Sunday. Spring already? I don't think so, just weird weather.
