So, last night didn't work. Not at all, dammit. What I'm talking about is the early to bed bit. I was sound asleep at 21:30 when Karen answered the phone. It was, of course, the hospital. And I had to go in. Karen, sweetheart that she is, warmed the car up for me, even though she was getting ready for bed when the phone rang. And I was only there about an hour... but I couldn't get back to sleep, natch. However, I did wake up on time and in a good mood today... go figger. Karen stayed home with Lacee, who had a toothache. Took her to the dentist where the offending tooth was removed... Karen said that Lacee was wonderful throughout the procedure and almost as proud of herself when it was over as Karen was of her. Anyhoo, I stayed over at work a little tonight, showing some people how to do the stuff that I got called in to do last night, so at least we won't get called in about *that* again... At work today, the talk turned to steaks, and where to get the best ones, so I got my mouth set for a nice medium rare KC Strip. My favorite place has bitten the dust, figuratively, and my new favorite is Larabies. Good food, lousy service, at least tonight. The girl that waited on us tonight was a knockout, but not much of a waitperson. I'm usually pretty generous with tips, but she didn't get much, hopefully she'll learn? I know that it's supposed to work that way, anyway. Negative reinforcement. Of course, there're cowboys in there every night who'll tip her generously just for looking at them, and paying no attention whatsoever to the service.... The steak that I had tonight was excellent, and that'll hold me for a while. On the way home we stopped by Walgreens to pick up some scripts and I went in and Karen waited in the car... I bought some licorice, two pounds... just couldn't resist. Well, I would've got it even if Karen had come in with me, I guess. Then we had to go to the *other* walgreens to pick up a coupla scripts for Karen. I've been trying and trying to get her to change over to mine (open 24 hours!) but she doesn't want to. Damnfino. I'm not on call again until the 10th... that makes me feel good. I was gonna get *soooooo* much sleep last night.... I just talked to JD about his travel plans, he's really looking forward to coming up here and then going to see brother Dan... i wisht I was going with him, but que sera... next time fer sure! We had originally planned a road trip, just JD and I, but silly me ran out of days off. I'm just gonna have to plan my life better. Speaking of travel plans, Karen and I we kinda planning on going to Wichita this weekend, and I was gonna go on down to Enid, but neither of us has enough energy, it seems, and there are too many things going on here that we need to take care of, so that might happen next weekend or else sometime in February... My immediate plans are taking precedence over continuing blathering... I'm going to sleep now.
