Bill O'reilly's article in the NYTimes.
My reply:
I got called pretty early this morning, first for CTs on a 20-year old who had rolled/flipped his truck at a high rate of speed. And speaking of high, he sure was. He had a fractured spine and multiple internal injuries but he'll survive just fine, I believe. It took me about three hours to get out of there, but when I did, I didn't get called again until about 17:00. Took me a coupla hours to do several patients, and now, I hope, I'm home for the evening. I had time to get a nice long nap today, so I laid down but I never could quite get to sleep, dammit, but that's just as well, that means that I should be able to sleep tonight. Short work week, and then I still don't know if I'm working new years' eve and new years' day, I need to discuss it with Karen. Well, I just discussed it with Karen, I will not be working new years. That was pretty easy. Winter is finally here, it's getting down to 10F tonight, and only up to like 25F tomorrow. Doesn't really make much difference to me, it's just interesting to talk about... well, maybe not even that, heh? Dammit, the months, the seasons, the years... they are all going so fast, and all that I seem to be able to do is drop my jaw and gawk. We are all helpless before the rush of time, but most of us can remain relatively unbothered by it... not me, I feel every minute bleeding out of my life, and I want it to Stop. Right. Now. Once again, my words are unheeded, it's not stopping, nor even slowing down as it snickers at me. Speaking of snickers... I have eaten way too much. This is my first holiday season without smoking, and man! does the food taste good! Gotta stop that soon, of course.
Bill O'reilly was right when he said that he would offend some atheists out there... I am one of those atheists, and Bill O'reilly and his ilk often offend me, and this happens so frequently that I'm sure that it's not accidental.
