Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I suffered a disfiguring accident today... I accidentally cut off part of my beard, necessitating shaving the whole damned thing off.

Well, not the *whole* damned thing... I kept the sideburns. No, I don't know why I kept the sideburns, but when you have as little hair as I do, you cherish every little bit.

Well, that's a flat-out lie, I don't cherish hair at all... on myself or on anyone or anything else. In fact, I do really believe that hair is probably the third-worse thing that has happened to mankind, topped only by religion and Mondays.

See, hair is divisive. Like, there are those who have it and those that don't. and people who have "pretty" hair can look down on those that have ugly hair and those with no hair at all. For instance, red-headed people just *know* that they're the creme-de-creme of humankind.

And the money that gets wasted - yes, WASTED! on hair is simply staggering. Last I heard, they were charging $10 for a haircut. Ten Bucks! That is outrageous! And what's more, people will pay even more if they like the barber! Not to mention shampoo, the price of which has allegedly skyrocketed. Real poo would be more appropriate in most cases. Anyway, Americans spend more on hair care products than the GNPs of many third-world countries. Can anyone say, "Get your priorities straight, Americans!"?

Nah, it'll never happen.

Anyway, I haven't been beardless for quite a while, not since that last time I shaved it off... I noticed that my chin was cold as I was walking into work this morning, gonna have to get used to that. Or maybe I'll just grow it back next week, which is more likely.

I found out that there is another computer position coming open at work, and I think that I'll apply for it. I'm liking CT a lot, but I have the feeling that most of the challenge is going to be gone within the next six months....

Weird dreams lately, mostly about smoking. I'm slinking around with a lighter and a cigarette in my hand, looking for someplace to go and smoke in peace, but there's always someone around who would tell on me... in fact, almost everyone that I know has showed up in my dreams lately, most notably some dead people. Well, of course, they aren't dead in the dreams, that would just be boring... zombies would be interesting, but dead people don't add much to a dream.

JD's tornado picture from the other day. I've been close to a few, but never this close.

Thanx for being here!
