Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Karen took more pictures than I did... but Walgreens messed hers all up. Anyway, eventually I'll get all of our cruise pictures together and put them up. Not tonight, though.

That's 'cause I'm tired tonight. And I'm tired 'cause I worked hard, and that's something that I'm not used to doing.

I did make it to work on time, though, but it was damned hard getting out of bed. Damned hard.

But it wasn't really very busy, in fact the day kinda sailed along just fine until early this afternoon.

We got an order to do an aspiration on a patient that we'd done a CT pelvis on earlier in the day, so I was kinda acquainted with this patient. He was restrained in the morning, but pretty cooperative.

His condition had degenerated when I saw him this afternoon... he was badly in need of painkillers and very disoriented... or maybe he was disoriented because of painkillers, hell, I dunno. He was also vomiting up nasty green stuff. Needless to say, getting the aspiration done was not much fun, but we did get through it. Yes, we did, but I was glad when it was over, and so was everyone else involved, especially the patient. Hopefully, we helped to evaluate his problem and he will get cured....

I came home from work and found Drew and Andy chatting with Karen, and pretty soon along comes Karla and Garen. Drew is just so energetic that it completely saps me just being around him... a little red-headed tornado, he is.

I watched the Ben Laden tape, along with the rest of the world. No surprises there, was there? Cold-blooded people, these guys. Besides dispelling the notion that the guy was innocent, the tape also gives lie to the notion that this... whatever-it-is-but-it-ain't-a-war... isn't based upon religion. Their very lives are based upon their religion, and their religion, like all religions, teaches hate... hate of those who don't worship the same sky-guy in exactly the same way that you do. Religions divide the world, and we've already got enough of that.

And I don't even want to get into politics tonight, I'm just way too tired.

I did get signed up to work xmas eve and xmas day, though. My co-worker was happy to give them up, imagine that!

On a down note... I've officially decided that I can't go with JD to see my brother Jon in January. Turns out that I don't have enough vacation days, dammit. And, on another sour note (that's down and sour in the same paragraph!) I'm starting to blow green snot out of my head, which probably means that I've got Tyler's cold. Well, no, it means that I've got sinusitis, while Tyler had a cold. Anyway, I'm properly miserable for it, but not yet as miserable as Tyler was last Sunday. I hope that he's over the worst of that by now...

Thanx for being here!
