Natterings, Notions

Notes

Got up way too early this morning... bright, bright sun was flooding the room. This was intentional... the sun hates me.

Well, really, I left the curtains open so that we would get up, but by the time we actually did there was land on both sides of us. We went up and ate breakfast while they were making the ship fast.

And it's warm here... really really warm. Karen and Kim left early, along with Matt... Matt was going snuba diving... no, that's not a typo... it's a cross between snorkling and scuba diving, I guess.

Religions are like farts... they all stink except for your own, and sometimes your own stinks too, if you stop and think about it. This subject was brought up because of an experience that I had this morning in an elevator...

I've found that it's usually easier and quicker to use the bathroom in our room than finding an empty public one... so anyway, after breakfast, I went back to our room and then when I got on the elevator going back up there were a coupla-three people already in it. I said good morning to them, and one of them said, "bless you!" I didn't ask him why he was blessing me, but then I noticed his shirt: "Being a Christian is Da Bomb!" I damned near said, in an innocent and inquiring manner, "That would be the *stink* bomb, right?" But I didn't. No, self-preservation gets ahead of my principles sometimes... this guy was about 30, six foot four and weighed maybe 300 pounds. I didn't really feel like having a philosophical discussion with him... at least not on a 4X6 foot elevator.

Our boat is the little one...

As I said, Karen and Kim and Matt went to town this morning; I decided to go this afternoon, and I walked off of the dock in awe: there were three other ships pulled in, all of them quite a bit larger than the Celebration. Anyway, I went through the duty-free shops and out onto the street and started walking towards town. I could have gotten a taxi, but the whole idea was to walk...

I'd been going about ten minutes when I saw Matt in a taxi going back towards the ship. I figgered that he'd finished snuba diving, and I wanted to see what he thought of it.

By the time I got back to the entrance, he was already gone, so I went up to the outdoors bar and sat where I could see people coming in... and pretty soon along comes Karen and Kim. They had been in the taxi with Matt but I couldn't see them since the glass was tinted...

Matt's diving deal was at 15:00, so he's off enjoying that right now, it's about 15:40. Karen and Kim are up by the pool, complaining because it's cloudy...

18:53...
Back from supper... Karen and Kim and Matt have gone into town to "finish up" their shopping. I'm staying home in the room, I might watch a little TV or I might just go to sleep... most likely the latter, though.

Thanx for being here!
