Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

We got into Enid about 20:30 last night... unfortunately, Mom was expecting us sooner than that, due to my earlier entry. We didn't get nearly as good a start as I had thought that we were going to... plus we stopped at the Conestoga and ate...

Mom gave us the bad news when we got there... her sewer line had gone belly up. Well, not belly up, but it had collapsed. So our water uses were greatly restricted... I'll leave it up to your imagination...

We visitied for quite a while before going to bed, and I had one helluva time getting to sleep, and then I kept Karen up after I went to sleep finally. She said that I was talking in my sleep, something that I don't ever remember doing before. I was having some weird dreams... about canoes and indians and sails and cliff-dwellings... I've been having weird dreams more often lately. I remember dreaming the other night about my second cousins and their dad, we were hunting elk in Utah. I think that the cousins were shooting at me and I couldn't get my damned gun to work...

Anyway, Karen got up about 08:00 or so to start the turkey so I got to sleep by myself until 11:00... it's a very small bed, a standard double... not big enough for two people to be comfortable... in fact, I hang over the end even when I'm sleeping alone up there.

Today was pretty laid-back in general, we just spent time visiting and Karen spent a lot of time napping. She's been going all out for the last coupla weeks, and this is a nice break for her. I picked up about five pounds of pecans from Mom's tree and that was about all of the exercise that I got today. O'yeah, this evening I went to Walgreens to get me some tums and Karen some diet coke and Mom some ginko-bilboa pills, since she thinks she's losing her memory. We have differing opinions on that, though...

We pretty much vegged out tonight, watching first "White Christmas" and then "It's a Wonderful World". We had eaten turkey and fixings earlier, and we had turkey sandwiches for supper... I love turkey leftovers!

We'll leave late tomorrow afternoon, I think, depending on how Karen feels about it... we don't really have anything pressing to get done before Monday morning, and I just don't really feel like moving very fast anyway.

I'm sleeping downstairs tonight and letting Karen have the bed, I'm feeling guilty about keeping her up last night...

Thanx for being here!
