Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, the major part of the Thanxgiving fiasco is over now... the ballgame and the meal. Or rather, the *first* ballgame and the *main* meal.

Karen did an excellent job with the dinner, of course... the turkey was done perfectly, and she seemed to make everything else fall into place. The major problem was... she'd planned the meal for about 15:00, but Andy and Karla were thinking 13:00... and they had two other places to go have dinner... so they had to leave before we ate. Karen was very disappointed.

So there was me and Matt and Kim and Patrick and Lacee and Karen, enough to fill up the table. And like I said, the food was very good.

Kim brought over fudge... she always used the recipe on the marshmallow creme label... Fantasy Fudge... but she said that they'd changed it and called it a different name. So she winged it, trying to remember what it was last year. I'll have to go looking for that recipe on the web so she'll have it.

I found the recipe and printed it out for her... she had remembered it exactly, so she said...

19:41 and Karen and I are all alone... she's going to sleep in the recliner, and I'm sitting in here listening to the laugh tracks of whatever it is she's watching on the TV.

I'm feeling kinda melancholy, missing JD and Tyler and everyone else in my family. I'm really looking forward to seeing Mom tomorrow. Karen is cooking up another turkey to take down there with us, and Mom said that she's baking the pies, so we should be well set.

I just got all of the meat off of the turkey... messy job, but it's only a small contribution compared to what Karen has done today. The poor girl is exhausted.

So... it was a so-so day, not altogether unpleasant, and certainly better than a day spent working.

Thanx for being here!
