Crummy, just crummy. Temperature=101.2F, so I'm doing all of the things that one who has a fever does... fluid, ibuprofen, sleep. Mostly sleep, but with feverish nightmares. It's strange to wake up from a nightmare with the sun shining... seems like it should be dark, as dark as it is in your head, at least that dark. I had to cancel my dentist appointment, of course. I had a flu shot a coupla weeks ago, and besides, I know is not that, anyway. I'm still not really *that* sick. I still have the diarrhea, though, and my ass is pretty much on fire, I hate that, but the ibuprofen helps that out some. Anyway, back to the flu shot, that just covers the most likely strains, and whatever this is just got through the cracks. I really hate this feverish feeling... this is the fifth day of it, and it's getting boring. It's kinda like fog for the psyche, or something like that. Every step must be thought about before being taken, and every thought must be considered gravely before thinking the next one. It's just kinda like a real slow way of living, without the benefits that one generally thinks about that are connected with slow living. I'm kinda watching a documentary on The Rocky Horror Picture Show and again I recall that I've never seen the damned thing. I need to rectify that before I die, I really should. Other shows that I've never seen, some of which I really don't care about seeing: The wizard of Oz; Young Frankenstein; Uh.... well, I know that there are about five or ten of them, but my feverish brain just isn't working very well right now. Needless to say, I'm not very up on pop culture, or any other kind of culture, for that matter. 18:24... Yeah, I said "alleged" on purpose. I've been reading about the election, damn, that was almost a year ago! How the time has flown... I've also been listening to the fact that the anthrax spores are small enough to leak out of an envelope through the paper itself, much less the cracks around the seals... So, it entered my mind, and exited right quickly, that I might have anthrax. Wrong symptoms. Good try, though. Well, maybe it's a heretofor unknown type of anthrax that I have? Nah, i wouldn't be so lucky as to be the first guy to die of a new disease. Which reminds me of the old golf joke: Had a can of tomato soup/ Love tomato soup, have since I was a little kid. Cheap and nutritious. Unfortunately, it made me feel even hotter that I already felt. Still over 100F even with the ibuprofen, dammit. The series is on Fox... I really dislike Fox network, especially that O'reilly fellow. He's a jackass, claims to be unbiased but he's really been lost since Clinton has left the limelight. You could cut his left leg off and he'd never notice. 21:48... I'm not doing very well at keeping the temp down... still over 100F, dammit. I guess that I'll go to bed and hope that helps. This morning after I called in I slept another five hours, maybe another 16 hours will take care of this whatever-it-is.
Almost time to watch the ball game... the alleged president is going to throw out the first ball, and security is tight at Yankee Stadium, they say.
Damned fine ball game so far. The fourth inning was an excellent example of exciting baseball. Karen was even impressed! She didn't understand why the batter didn't come at Clemmons when he hit the batter, though.
