Long day. Not enough sleep, for some damned reason I kept waking up from about 01:00 on... then I just about didn't make it out of bed. One of the other FT techs is gone today and tomorrow, and the replacement tech is... well, rather slow, comparatively. And we had a marathon drainage procedure going on in the other area, taking the other FT tech away... and we were busy as hell. We finally got out 15:00 patient done at 17:00, and the ED started up. We were just lucky that they waited, I guess. So anyway, I left about 18:30. Today was one of the few occasions since I came to days that my legs were throbbing when I got home. I don't really like it when that happens... And that's all of the news from Topeka... well, except for the anthrax. Yep, anthrax, right here in Topeka. Well, not really... but we have a facility here that repairs postal sorting machines, and they've repaired several machines from the POs out east and yep, they found some anthrax on the parts. So they're drugging anyone who might have been exposed. Speaking of drugs... remember the war on drugs? I guess that we'll get back to that when we win the war on terrorism. Actually... maybe there are a lot of people who would just really like to see the war on drugs silently abandoned... after all, (we) were losing badly... and the terrorism threat allows the same guys to spend lots of money on munitions, just like the war on drugs did... only the public has been told in advance that there might not be any evidence of how the "war" is going.... Man, what a line. Reminds me a lot of the god myth. Lots of people buy into that without any evidence, too... no, it's really too late for me to get started on that tonight. Some other time. You know, all you have to do is wait...
