I slept until 07:30 this morning, I had my alarm set. Got up, took a shower and got dressed and waited for the hospital to call. And waited. And waited. And *waited*. Usually, being unneeded is a bad thing, but I didn't feel that way today. I read the paper, drank a pot o' coffee and generally relaxed all day. Watched a coupla ball games, really disappointed (again) in the Chiefs. They blew another one that they should'a won. Karen got home a little after 18:00, she'd had a good trip. While she was gone, one of her friends had called from Parsons to tell her about the passing of a mutual friend. This was not unexpected, as the lady had metastatic cancer. Anyway, not fifteen minutes after karen got home, the hospital called and I had to go in. It was a short one, however, and simple, so I was home within an hour, even after filling the car and Today's picture was taken a coupla months ago, when Chuck was visiting Wichita. I'd downloaded the pix on Jeff's computer and he was going to e-mail them, but AOL wouldn't let him, so I asked him to burn a disk with them on it for Karen to bring home. Click on the little picture to see it enlarged... Nothing much to add, really, other than tomorrow is Monday, dammit. And I'll be off of call. Just being on call is a strain... not that I really mind it, y'understand...
