Long, long day... and I didn't get much sleep last night, either.
I started off about 06:30 with breakfast at Bob Myers', or something like that... nothing noteworthy there. I then went to get the oil changed, and I got an indication of how the day was going to go... I drove about five miles on the advice of a girl at the motel... and the place was closed permanently. Guess that she hadn't heard yet, heh.
So, I got on the road early, and I made really good time, until I got to Cleveland. I followed the directions on the map, and I got really lost in East Cleveland. East Cleveland, or at least the part I was lost in, is mostly black, which really didn't bother me any, so I don't know why I mentioned it. Heh, I guess that it did bother me anyway.
So, I read the directions again, and then I got lost in South Cleveland. Let's see... what'd I miss? O'yeah, I got lost in West Cleveland and everywhere south of the lake.
I knew that it was I-90 and Bishop. But no way that anyone told me could get me to Bishop. Yes, I did stop and ask directions... thrice. *Thrice* I suffered that humiliation. And with no positive results. Thrice.
So I said the hell with it, I'll go south to... well, maybe it said Dayton.
And Eureka! There was Bishop! I almost caused several wrecks getting into the right lane, and when I did, I immediately recognized the neighborhood... it was the very first one that I got lost in. Three hours and five gallons of gas ago. I had not trusted the computer-generated map. Silly, silly me.
This keyboard and the fact that I'm not using spell-checking are probably going to embarrass me... but after being lost all day (well, it seemed that way) I don't think that anything could embarrass me any more.
So I got to the hotel and carted everything in and started ironing stuff... yes, Karen, they do have an iron here, and I do know how to use it... I had to borrow a phone cord (something else that I forgot...) so I could get internet access. Then I went down to the bar/cafe and had some orange roughy, done just perfectly.
From my window, I can see the freighters on the horizon on Lake Erie. We're a coupla-five miles from the lake, so I do have to use my imagination. Kinda neat, though.
Gonna be another early night for me, I'm awfully tired from being lost...
