So, I got up early this morning. Karen had to go in to work at 07:00 and I was up by about 07:30. I made a pot of coffee and sat down to study on how to put the clutch in. I went out and got the ramps and drove the truck up on them and opened the hood, then I studied some more. I got all of the tools assembled, then I studied some more. And I realized that there was no way that I could do this. Twenty years ago I could've done it... but I'm just not up to heavy mechanical work any more. And from what I studied, the transmission is heavy. So I put the tools away. Andy knows a guy who'll do it. O'well, I have all of my tools organized now anyway. Today was another beautiful day in Kansas. I did some puttering around in the yard, didn't get anything accomplished really, but it was enjoyable just being outside... Andy brought over a rebuilt mower for us... he took the old one in to work on it, and declared it busted beyond repair. The crank shaft was bent, he said... Late this afternoon, Karen and I went to Lacee's schools' carnival. It was relatively enjoyable... I got some cotton candy, a treat that I haven't had for quite a while. I spent some time in the cake walk, but I didn't win anything... I came home early, leaning Karen to come home with Kim. She came in hauling a cake and some junk that she'd bought at the silent auction.... And speaking of Lacee... she was a junior cheerleader last night for Topeka West. Going out into crowds is one of those things. I'm on call tomorrow, but Karen has tickets to see George Carlin, so I'm gonna find someone to take the call for a few hours tomorrow night. It should be fun, I wonder if Fred Phelps is going to picket... that might be even more interesting.
