I am *so* happy that it is Friday.
When I worked nights, I used to talk about how many days in a row that I'd worked... I haven't done that much since I've been on days... so. It's time. Twelve days. Pretty paltry, compared to the, like, twenty-one in a row that I worked in September 2000. Or maybe it wasn't 2000, but 1999. I can't remember and I'm too lazy to look it up and really, it isn't important enough to bother. I know that you will all believe me when I say that, yes, I'm tard. I'm tard more than physically. I'm tard of watching the war-mongers prepare us for the banquet. The preceding quote is from http://www.ffrf.org/news/sept11.html, in case the link is broken. Yeah. Well, I don't usually link to FFR sites, but I'm really getting the feeling that we're careening down a twisty mountainside road in the dark with our lights off. I mean, Jeez, we don't even really have a target! Not one that we can find, anyway. But... Our armed services recruitment offices can't handle the rush. The jingoism is working very well on many segments of our society. Pretty soon... pretty soon, it will be just OK to kill innocent people if they might interfere with us getting to our target. We might suffer some "temporary" loss of our personal freedoms. Yes, this is a national crisis. But not from without... not from terrorists, but from within. From those who would deny the constitution and the bill of rights... from those who would rule from the pulpit. I have no idea how to stem the flow... I just hope with all of my heart that it will be stopped with reason, because there is no greater tool. But... reason has never worked before, and it is not likely to now. Mark Twain said, "You can't reason a fellow out of a position that he didn't reason himself in to." No, wait, that wasn't Mark Twain, it was the fellow that wrote Gulliver's Travels. Can't remember his name, but I'm pretty sure that he's dead... Another link, Lynda, and still Another, Mike. OK, enough of this. My day was hard and heavy, lotsa work that got done and my legs are killing me. Tomorrow will be spent working around here, mostly, hopefully, getting the hot tub fixed.
