Yeppers, Ill Omens 'R' Us!

Got called in at midnight last night for a coupla hours, and then I went in about 09:00 this morning, and I finally got to come home at about 20:30. O'yeah, I made a valiant attempt to stop working about, O, it was maybe 16:00 or so. I got home and Patrick was here, and the first thing that he said to me was, "the hospital called!" and dammit, so they had. I ate a coupla cookies and had a glass of milk and went back to the hospital.

The second round started off with a abscess drainage with one of my favorite radiologists, Dr. Allen. He's the one who's fixed my iliacs a coupla times.

Anyway, abscess drainage procedures are kinda fun, if you can stand the smell. Unfortunately, the acuity of my smeller had increased a bunch since I quit smoking... but it was still a pretty good procedure.

Speaking of my smeller, I've got a pimple on the S.O.B. right on the end. Not only does it look ridiculous, it hurts like hell when I touch it. And, of course, I can't help touching it constantly.

That's also the reason for no pix lately...

Anyways, every other time I've done a procedure of this sort, I've had an experienced radiology nurse with me. Unfortunately, the nurses aren't on call, but a couple of the special procedures nurses came over and helped me and Dr. Allen out, and it wound up being fun. And it took two hours, during which I wasn't called to do any CTs.

Then, instead of a break when I get done cleaning up after the drainage, I get socked with five more patients!

And I finally get home, and my legs feel like they used to feel when I worked nights... not a nostalgic feeling at all, though.

And my back hurts, too dammit.

Karen fixed me an egg sandwich when I got home, and now I don't really feel like moving... but I will, only towards my bed. But I have to leave the phone on... the night is still young.

O'wait! Speaking of nights, it's a beautiful one! And, I've heard, ti was a beautiful day, too. Low humidity, high about 75F, a few clouds... just perfect. Someday we'll have one and I'll be able to enjoy it.

Thanx for being here!
