It was a kinda uninteresting day until about two hours ago. Karen is off the rest of this week, and she went to Lawrence to pick up Brian this morning, so he's here tonight. She and him went out to met Matt and Kim somewhere after Matt's ball game, but about 20:45 she called me from her cell phone. She was stranded on 21st street, on the other side of the highway. She'd called Matt, and he had come down to look at the car... he told me that there was a pulley off of the main crankshaft. A pulley coming off of the crankshaft usually means one thing: a broken crankshaft. Which means that the engine is blown... which means that the car is essentially worthless. Actually, worse than worthless... we just spent about $700.00 on the axles and the brakes. Anyway, there is an off chance that I'm wrong about that. By the time I got down there, they had pushed the car into the lot of the Sears auto repair place, just across the street from where it had stalled. So we'll get up early in the morning and go talk to those people, see when they can look at it. Needless to say, I'm not really very happy right now... but today's picture is of Brian, and he certainly *looks* happy enough for both of us. Anyways, the rest of the day went OK, not too busy, but I had to go to a meeting that was pretty boring. And I'll have to go to another one Thursday morning that will be even more boring. And I found out today that my August 20th trip (which I hadn't mentioned before) has been postponed to Sept 4th. I'll be going to Cincinatti or someplace like that, maybe Cleveland, to learn about the new upgrade that we're getting on our CT scanner. That should really be interesting... we're going from a four-slice-per-rotation to twelve-slice-per-rotation machine. Three times faster... should let us do a lot more stuff as far as CT angiography goes... And it's getting late and I gotta get some sleep now...
