Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Lousy night's sleep. It took me hours to get to sleep, then I was constantly waking up, then I got up way too early. Yawning all day long.

It was an interesting day, though. I was working on the Z today (that's the CT machine in radiotherapy) and I learned quite a few things about the machine that I hadn't known. I did a biopsy this afternoon, first one for me, and I did OK with it. I haven't had much experience with that machine, and none with the procedure on that machine, but I bluffed my way through it and everything came out all right.

I was late getting home again, but that was OK, 'cause Karen wasn't going to be home anyway. Lacee got four tickets to the InSync (I have no idea if that's spelled right) concert in KC, and none of her little friends could go, so Grandma went.

But I did have an exciting visitor tonight...LisaDLisa Dunbar finally decided to come visit. Lisa was JD's first love, and Karen and I care a lot for her. She hasn't been over to see us, though, since we built the kitchen (more than two years!) and we had a lot to catch up on.

I've got the All-Star game on in the other room, and I was about half-way listening to it when I heard some excitement. Walked in to see Tommy Lasorda take a pratfall after being hit by a busted bat. Pretty good actor, he is.

I am always saddened by baseball. I used to enjoy it so much, before the strike. That was, what, 13 years ago? Now I don't generally give a damn except when I accidentally tune in a game and have the time to watch. I used to not miss a Royals game on the radio.

I miss caring about it, I guess. I miss caring about a lot of things as I age. Putting away the toys of youth, and replacing them with... what? I'm still looking.

Thanx for being here!
