Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, this not smoking shit is not getting any better. Or maybe it is, I dunno. Still haven't smoked, and I don't intend to. But the urges... they don't go away. I suppose that they never will, dammit.

Liquid web is screwing around with me. I finally got a message from them, saying "Your account was disabled due to rand_text.pl using too much CPU processes.". Rand_txt.pl is the program that brings up the random atheist quotes... and I got it from them. And there is no damned excuse to disable an account for any reason without notification.

Then I got a reply to the message that I sent back to them... this is all done via the helpdesk web-based messaging system. The reply was:"I will give you the benefit of the doubt and reactivate your account since you have been a customer with Liquid Web since the beginning. I will also speak with Jack regarding your account termination and forward you and further concerns. I am very sorry for the inconvience, If I would have noticed your account was disabled when you sent your first message I would have reactivated it then for you. Again sorry for the inconvience.". This was at 19:41 today, and the account still isn't activated. If it still isn't in the morning, I'm going with a different host... this is completely ridiculous.

What hacks me off the most is the "I will give you the benefit of the doubt"... BFD... they will let me continue to be a customer? I can think of no other reason than sheer incompetence on their part that I have been without service for the last two weeks. And then saying that the account is activated and it isn't... I'm just getting really frustrated.

And there are some other deals out there... one in particular, featureprice.com seems pretty good.

I really hate to think of moving all of my files, though. That's a lot of work... it will be at least twice as much work this time as it was last time... This, all by itself, is a very good reason to not move the site.

Thanx for being here!
