Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Monday, 25 June, 2001 20:55

It was indeed a Monday.

And a pretty crummy day on top of that. Mostly because I could hardly move. Bones creakin' somethin' awful, they were.

I didn't go over to the old machine today, but instead I did console work on the new one like I did all last week. Tomorrow I get to be the runner... doing all sorts of things, from gathering and hanging films to feeding patients their drinks to starting IVs.

And anything else that might need doing... it's in the small print.

Wednesday I get to do the patient stuff... putting the patient on the table, doing the positioning, doing the injections, stuff like that. Also Wednesday I have to come in an hour early to see a rare procedure that's done on the radiotherapy machine, the Ultra-Z, or as we call it, the "Z".

Wednesday is also Karen's birthday. Greetings will be cheerfully accepted at karen@nilknarf.net.

And Thursday I have a dentist's appointment at 08:10 and after that an appointment with the cardiologist at 10:45. The cardiologist's office nurse called today and moved my appointment up. The cardiologist takes me seriously when I say that I have chest pain, while his nurse evidently doesn't.

No calls so far tonight. And I only did one patient between 16:30 and 17:30. And I got an attaboy! from the woman who called me last week when I wasn't on call... stuff like that gives me the warm fuzzies.

And tomorrow I get to go to the back class... Back in Action! is what they call it. Dumb.

Karen was gone when I got home tonight... but on the table was a big bouquet of flowers for her from this guy at work who worships her. Luckily, I don't let stuff like that bother me... much, anyway. She'd picked up Lacee and went to Walgreen's to pick up a 'script and then took Lacee home.

A little later in the evening, Andy and Karla and Drew came over, and we sat out on the deck and BSed for a while, and I got a few pictures...The first is Drew and Karla (she didn't have makeup on, wouldn't let me get a good shot of her) Andyand the second one is Andy.
The last one is drew hamming it up for the camera.Drew I'll get a good one of Karla sometime soon, I promise...

Did I mention that I was awake until 03:00 last night? And I got up a half-hour late? That means that I'm going to bed early tonight. I need to get on a regular, really regular, sleep schedule.

Well, dammit, I know that these pictures aren't lining up right, but I don't feel up to figgering it out right now...

Thanx for being here!
