So, I blew the hell out of getting on a regular sleep schedule last night. Went to bed, slept an hour and that was it. I lay there awake for an hour before I got up, though. Thinking about how to switch the OS over, going through the steps, what I'd have to save, etc. Finally I figgered t' hell with it and got up. So I made the switch with only one major boo-boo. I archived Outlook with the wrong date... I saved everything up until 03/15/2001. Hit the wrong key, and I didn't notice it until I retrieved the archived stuff. Damn. I could just say "no great loss..." and live my life, I suppose... but there was some important stuff in there, stuff that I'll never see again. Regardless, that downgrade did do what I wanted it to do... the system is much faster without all of that overhead. I went out to Sam's after they opened and got some necessities... coffee and popcorn and Oil of Olay shower soap. Yeah, necessities. The shower soap is wonderful, and I've decided that I can't live without it. Mom actually got me started on it... she had some when I visited her about a year or so ago, and when I got my xmas certificate from the hospital ($20) I bought four bottles of it at Sams. That lasted six months, and for $20 that ain't bad. Anyway, we ran out a week or so ago, and went back to bar soap... but I'm used to luxury now, and bar soap just don't cut it. I managed to stay up until about 14:00 and then I took a nap. When I woke up, it was 20:00 and Karen had gone to Lawrence to get Brian. He and Lacee were here, as was Kim. Brian will get to sleep in the spare bedroom, since we cleaned it out for JD and it's now in a usable condition. The fireflies are out now... and the little cat is going crazy, catching them and (presumably) eating them. They will become much more numerous in the weeks to come around here, she won't be able to keep up... 23:00 now, and I think that I'll try to go to sleep, Karen and Brian are both asleep now... they're going to Wichita tomorrow, Karen has to pick up a few things from the rest home. And I need to do some yard work. I bought a hose at Sam's today, and I need to put a hose reel up so that we can water the front yard. I actually have about a million things that I need to do outside tomorrow... I might get a few of them done.
