Three more nights... but who's counting? Heh. Another pretty busy night. Well, maybe not really busy, but almost ever exam that I did was complicated in some way or another. First, two of the CT patients that I needed to do didn't have IVs started, so I had to wait while that was done... then the IVs failed once I started the power injector... both of them, dammit! There was no big fiasco like what happened a coupla weeks ago, though. Just wasted time and contrast. Another patient, this one from ICU, was a major problem. Actually, the patient wasn't, the doctors were. The radiologist didn't want to come in to cover the injection, and the patient's doctor didn't want to come in until the exam was done. I had to let them fight it out... cost another hour. I managed to stay out of the middle, but just barely... I kept transferring their calls to each other. Personally, I think that they both should'a come in on the first call... but what do I know? I was gonna have a pretty sunrise picture today... Joe from Respiratory has been telling me how pretty the sunrises were from the 8th floor. However, when I got up there this morning, all of the pretty was gone, or more likely, it hadn't been there today. Not enough dust in the air to get that rose color, or hardly any color at all. Sorry, I know that you're disappointed... so am I. JD will be leaving today about 11:00 or so, flying into Houston, where it's still raining. Annette (his GF) said that there had been looting and stuff in the flooded parts, and that there were a lot of impassible streets and major highways. So it might not be easy for him to get from Houston to Huntsville... I wish that he could stay another week. Tyler's asleep on the couch, he stayed over the night. He's driving JD to the airport, so I'm glad to see that he's here and sober... he's a damned good kid too, of course, I just really worry about him a lot. He's enough like I was at that age to scare me... Again, the damned cable's out. This is getting tiresome. Three more nights. Did I mention that already? Three twelve-hour nights. Two of them I'll have the best ER doc on, so they'll be nice. The third and last night is hard to call...
