Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I forgot to mention something yesterday that is fairly important... the tech that works opposite me has quit.

This had me somewhat worried about my status, as far as going to CT on June 18th; after all, they haven't been able to replace me, and they've been (supposedly) looking since February.

I let a few people know that if there was any change that my resignation was going to be next. I've been way too patient with these people, and I think that they know it.

Anyway, my supervisor came in yesterday and assured me that I would be moving to days in CT as planned and not to worry about it. Well, I'll still believe it when I see it, but I will wait another month... but there are way too many other places to go to put up with crap here.

I didn't get to sleep yesterday until about 13:30 and I went to bed at 10:00. I thought that I was asleep and I had a nightmare and woke up completely... and it was only 10:25. Once I got to sleep, I slept hard, hitting the snooze until 20:00... that's 45 minutes worth. And after I got up, and even after I got to work, I wasn't really sure if I'd made the right decision about getting out of bed...

It wound up being an OK night, though... fairly steady, no big excitements. No thunderstorms, either. Dammit. About 02:00 it got really humid and I was sure that we were gonna get something, but no, it just stayed humid. The cold front seems to be stalled right over Topeka and see-sawing back and forth; normally, this would generate a lot of energy, but that seems to be happening, again, just east of here and moving south and east. We miss out on all of the good stuff.

Todays picture is one of the irises (irii?) in the front planter. I think that Mom gave them to us a coupla years ago, or maybe someone else did, or maybe they just grew wild there. I really don't know. Anyway, they're pretty, it's the first time that they've ever bloomed.

The grass (weeds) needs cutting badly. I would go do it now, but it's cloudy and I'm tard. Maybe tomorrow? Maybe Sunday morning? Yeah, that's it, Sunday morning. Or maybe not. Maybe Tyler will come over and cut it for me. I haven't seen him in a while, dammit.

Speaking of Tyler, he lives in Lawrence, and so does Groovegarden Shelly. She and I have never met, but we just might next week, if I can get an email to her so we can get something set up... I'm looking forward to it!

OK, off to bed for me. Gotta get that energy stored up for Friday Night!

Thanx for being here!
