Another good night... kind of. Didn't have to work really hard, anyway.
For about the last week, I've been getting hoarse. Hoarser and hoarser, but not really feeling bad.
Well, last night I really started feeling as bad as I sound. Worse than that, even. Sore throat, phlegmy, cough, almost unable to stay awake and concentrate.

Last night I had the Nurse Practitioner look at me, and she prescribed some antibiotics, but she said that it was most likely viral. The antibiotics were precautionary. I haven't had any sinus trouble since the last time about a month ago, but after I told her that I didn't have any sinus symptoms I started blowing green snot out of my head.
So the sore throat is most likely a result of post-nasal drip, the way it usually is. As of right now, I don't have a temp, so that's good.
I just called in sick, so I'm gonna try staying up the rest of the day... I can't imagine feeling well enough by tomorrow to go back to work. Besides, I've gone back to work too soon too many times, maybe I've learned my lesson.

Tyler didn't stay very long, but it was nice visiting with him. He says that he's got the crud too, had it for a coupla weeks now. He also told me that he's quit smoking (cigarettes) a coupla weeks ago. Sheesh... no *real* smoker will quit just 'cause he's sick!
I am feeling somewhat better after my naps, but the throat is still really raw. I have cut down some on the smoking today, 'cause it makes my throat hurt even more. And coughing is even worse yet.
Uncle Eldon died. He'd been on life support for a month or so after surgery to repair an abdominal aortic aneurysm. Eldon and Aunt Ene live about 30 miles off of the interstate between here and Enid, but I would very seldom take the time to stop and visit, and I really regret that. Aunt Ene will be seeing more of me, I've made up my mind that I'll see her every time that I go see Mom.
I think that I'll go to bed for real now.
I just simply had to go to sleep after writing the above... that lasted about two hours.
Yet another little nap. Karen woke me up when Tyler came over to burn some CDs and ask me some questions about the income tax return... he got a letter from the IRS wanting more info.
