And it was a better day all around, it was.

Went to bed rather early last night and slept all night, had pleasant dreams, even. The ones that you hate to wake up out of...

But I woke up anyway, and found that Karen had left a pot of coffee for me. I wasn't really sure that she would be going to work, since she was feeling so crummy last night.

I feel really good today, all day. Eye problem is gone, cold seems to be getting better, no real aches or pains. I could really get to like this!

I made a run to the bank, then out to Sams, then to Best Buy. Karen has been on me for quite a while to get a good printer so that I could print out the digital photos that I've been taking, so I did. And the price had gone down 25% since the last time that I priced them... the one I got will do 2400X1200 DPI on photo paper, it's a HP deskjet 932C. More on that later...

I'd just got home, about noon, when the phone rang. Unlisted. "Hey!" I thought, "That's Karen! Wants me to come down and have lunch with her!" Well, I was wrong. Usually the telemarketers have a lapse of three-four seconds before they pick up the phone if you answer it, and that gives me plenty of time to hang up. Karen always answers immediately.

So, I was disappointed. But not for long...

'Cause about ten minutes later the door opens, and there's Karen! But... she's sick. On top of the cold, she had a headache. Bummer. So I sit her down in her favorite chair and start her tape for her.

And the tape's screwed up... the picture keeps flipping, so she just listens to her show.

About five minutes after I come back in to the computer room, Karen yells at me that there's a guy out front with a big box. Yep, finally got my 19-inch monitor. It's a ViewSonic PS790, 0.22mm. Really, really nice.

So I finally got busy and cleaned up the desk and started re-arranging stuff. So now I've got three computers and two monitors on the desktop, and two computers underneath. And they're all clean!

Well, I didn't get around to cleaning the floor yet, but I've made progress... I can *see* it!

Since coming home, Karen has had first a nap, then a little cereal, and then she went to bed. I really feel bad for her, but there's nothing that I can do except force OJ down her throat... well, that and decongestants. Put her to sleep, at least.

It started clouding up about noon, but it didn't really start raining until about 15:30 or so. First a gentle pitter-patter, then a little faster... but it didn't start pouring until about 19:30 or so, and it's poured ever since then. Lotsa lightning and thunder, too.

Tyler showed up about then, he had to finish up with his income tax stuff and burn some CDs from some files that he'd sent over. I also made him help me set up the printer, since we had to print some stuff for his taxes.

One of the neat things about this printer is the fact that it can be connected via USB. Supposedly. I sure couldn't do it, though. After a half-hour, it was back to the old parallel port. Then it was a snap. Actually, I think that something might be wrong with my USB port connection, since I couldn't DL stuff from my camera tonight either...

Tyler had a helluva time burning some data disks, though... they wouldn't close properly, and pretty much locked the system up. I thing that one of the files that he was burning was defective or something, 'cause he burned an audio disk and it worked just fine.

So... I was gonna include a picture of my pretty office, but that'll have to wait until I figger the USB thing out. So you'll have to settle for yet another self-portrait... sorry.

Thanx for being here!
