Karen and I had a nice drive back, beautiful spring-like weather today. Not warm, but much better than it has been...
I got up about 08:00, Ric was already gone and Deb had taken Jeff to school and was back. Karen and I and Deb drank a pot of coffee and I ate some cereal. We were going to go out to the home and take Betty out for lunch and then leave from there.
We got to Bettys and picked her up and met up with Ric at a place with "egg" in its name... a breakfast/lunch place. Very good, of course. I had an omelette, just like I always do in breakfast places. We got done eating and tool Betty back and said our goodbyes and got on the road.
Karen started off driving, but north of ElDorado she said that she was getting sleepy so I took over... she was asleep in about three minutes.
Shortly after we got home, she turned on the TV and started watching Opprah and Opprah was showing a film about what smoke does to your lungs... real scare-tactic thing, absolutely demeaning to anyone with any intelligence. Pissed me off and Karen said that I was just being defensive. Well, maybe so, but I don't think that it helps their cause any to distort facts. But wow! They want to *impress* people on how bad smoking is, so they think that it's justified.
I'm more in favor of the idea that people can usually handle the truth and draw their own conclusions. That's why I'm not a salesman, I guess. Or a preacher.
It's supposed to be nice the next coupla days, so I'm gonna be out in the yard working, mowing up the leaves and trying to figger out how to have a lawn this year...
