Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, it should be obvious from the time stamp that I didn't go to work tonight.

I've got a 101F temp, and a sinus infection that's probably coincidental, but nonetheless miserable. My main symptoms include generalized muscle soreness (pain) and a very tender gut. I was able to eat some crackers and cheese but I'm unwilling to go any further than that.

I did sleep most of the day, though, so I'm not really very tired. Not very ambitious, either. I should be working on my CE stuff, but I don't think that I have the ability to concentrate enough to get any good out of it right now... maybe later.

Lacee's staying the night, so if I want to nap I can either try pushing her over in the bed closer to Karen or I can try the couch. The couch might be a lot easier. I don't really want to sleep, though... I want to sleep in the morning, because I want to be well enough to go to work tonight.

Back to yesterdays entry regarding creationists vs evolutionists... I really don't understand how any xian can believe in the bible without being a creationist, but many of them do. It's either the word of god or it isn't. It seems like to me that if you believe that any part of the book is wrong, you have to accept that other parts, or the whole damned thing, are wrong too.

But still, the creationists are a small part of the religions adherents. Quite a vocal and insidious part, to be sure, but far from being the majority that they try to assume.

It wasn't just us atheists and agnostics that voted a moderate school board in, y'know. If it was only us voting against the creationists here in Kansas, we'd still be teaching nothing but creationism... it was the almost-always silent xian majority that did the voting to get rid of (most of) the creationists on the board.

Of course, before 1999, nobody really knew that there were creationists on the board in the first place, nor did they know that the board had the power to change the curriculum requirements.

Heh... my spell-checker wanted to replace creationism with cretinism.

Well, I'm really tired and getting really sleepy, I think that I'll take a little nap on the couch, maybe with the history channel on, I don't think that it can keep me awake...

06:59...
No nap... my couch is not good for adults to sleep on, or at least ones over six feet. The history channel had a show on about sex in the old west, it was fairly interesting, but not enough to keep me awake had I been in my real bed.

However, I am feeling somewhat better now... possibly all of those ibuprophen pills that I've been taking.

I think that I'll go to bed when Lacee gets up, she's supposed to call Steve and he'll come over and get her, he's off today. The kids are out of school for a teachers conference or something like that.

So, whilst I was roving around on the web, I noticed that The Universal Church of Life will ordain people... so now y'all can call me Reverend Doug. Or Reverend Nilky, should you be so inclined. I plan on hanging the certificate in a prominent place... it's pretty fancy!

I'm getting quite bold now... I just ate an english muffin with peanut butter and honey. And I'm hungry for more, but I think that I'll let this one settle down a bit first.

I'm pretty sure that I'll be able to go back to work tonight... right now my muscles and back are sore and my face hurts... gotta get some antibiotics for that... but my gut feels OK, just sore muscles from regurgitating.

I do want to keep on top of the sinuses though... about half of the people that wind up with those nasty pneumonias started off with sinusitis, and I really don't want to do that.

Thanx for being here!
