Notes

Well, Karen and I didn't get much "alone" time last night... Kim came over and Matt was here and by the time they both left I had to go to sleep.

I only slept about an hour, though, before I was up again, dammit. But I was only awake about two hours.

Then Karen woke me up at 06:00 or something like that, I'm not really clear on when it was... she couldn't get the car door open.

It had done the rain/snow/freezing rain/snow deal all night long... luckily, the freezing rain part wasn't so bad, there wasn't a lot of ice accumulation, but enough to freeze the car doors shut.

There was about three inches of ice/snow/frozen rain on the car, it took about a half-hour to get it ready to drive once I'd gotten in... and that took fifteen minutes.

I'd almost convinced her to stay home, but she's got OT this week and didn't want to blow it.

So I'm sitting here now watching it snow, and snow, and snow. Looks like it'll keep up for the next hour or so before it clears off... then it'll get down to zero F tonight with a nice, brisk north wind.

We're also getting some power outages over the last half-hour... probably people hitting power poles and the circuits switching over, they're momentary. My new APC back-up works well for momentary stuff. Evidently, from looking at the lights on the home network, so does the old one... hmmm...

Come to think of it, that's why I thought I needed a new one, the old one didn't handle the momentary ones. Of course, it's got less of a load on it now, I've got it hooked up to Karens machine (which she doesn't use) in the dining room.

Anyway, the snow right now is really coming down, I can barely see across the street. Matt is not working today... he stayed at Steves last night because of the weather... KU is closed down, and that's where he was supposed to go today.

And Steve just came in... he took the kids over to Kims, because there was no school today and it was her turn to stay home with them. He's just had a blowout, hit something hidden in the snow on 21st street. He and Matt are out changing it now.

Todays picture is of Betty and Debbie and Karen, taken (I think) thanxgiving 2000. But I'm not sure about that.

I need to go to bed now so that I can get up at 19:30 and go to work. Hopefully the snow and cold will keep people home tonight!

Thanx for being here!
