Well, gee whiz. Tard. Not enough sleep yesterday... what a surprise.
I started trying at 09:30 or so, but it was after 13:00 before I finally zonked out. So last night was rough.
Not real bad patient-wise, just mostly tough staying awake and keeping the right attitude to deal with people. I was partly frazzled, in other words.
Right now, I'm waiting for the proctologists office to call me back with an appointment time for my colonoscopy. Yep, I finally called them, now I've been playing phone tag for a while...
I also got some good news last night: the hospital will now deposit our paychecks in the bank of our own choosing! This is something that I've been lobbying for for years, and I'm really happy about it.
Also, I can't remember if I mentioned this before or not, but I got selected for jury duty again. This'll be my fourth time at it, but I don't think that it'll be as exciting as the last time...
The last time was on a federal jury. The case was long and drawn-out, but it was finally settled on the Thursday before a maniac shot and killed a coupla guards and set off some explosives on the same floor that we had been on... they'd called the night before and told us that we didn't need to come the next day. We were supposed to go in and talk to the judge or something like that and he decided against it... I can't really remember what we were going back for, since it was settled.
The other two times that I was called was for a county jury, and I served for two weeks on one of those, the other was settled out of court. The county doesn't treat the jurors nearly as well as the feds do... no free coffee or soft chairs. It's kinda like being back in high school in that way. Not at all a pleasant environment... but I like serving on juries and doing my patriotic duty. Sometimes ya get to hang the bad guys.
Anyway, I thought that my supervisor would be upset and try to get me out of it since we're still short, but she started making plans to cover for me, so that's gonna work out OK.
And I don't think that I'm gonna stay up any longer waiting for phone calls... too damned tard for that.
