Well, I made it through... and I'm damned tard, too. Right now, I've been up about 26 hours, and fading fast. Damned fingers aren't working right, having to retype every other word. And I was like that most of the night, having to double-check each patients name that I put into the imaging system.
Not really busy, but I really felt inefficient... usually I can get on a roll sometime during the night, but not this one. Everything step-by-ponderous step, having to think before each one.
I really don't like working on no sleep.
Well, yeah, I think I did get maybe 30 minutes of sleep before I went in... laid down for a little less than an hour, but I woke up when Karen opened the door to wake me up.
Yep, definitely gotta use the spell-checker on this entry...
We probably won't go to Wichita after all... again. Karen hasn't been able to get ahold of Debbie, line's been busy all day yesterday and all last night.
I've been trying to reserve judgement on Baby Bush, but it looks like... well, it looks like it's even going to be worse than I expected. And I expected that it would be pretty bad.
We're seeing the wrathful religious right raising its head, instead of keeping it bowed like their god says that it should be. I'm not saying that they should practice timidity, but, well, yeah. Let them keep their fucking religious rules where they should be... in their own sects. If there were one religion, and they were "right"... and none of them are, by my definition... maybe that would work. But not in a country where many people think for themselves and don't trust arguments from authority without question.
Anyways, it's started. And I'll be watching and hoping that reason will out...
Meanwhile, I'm going to try to get turned around (again!) like I was yesterday... when I was planning on sleeping all night last night. I can still salvage this week off... or maybe not.
I just decided the hell with it, and called the hospital and told them that I was available, in case the other tech called in again. I hope that she doesn't, of course, but damn! that time-and-a-half is great!
But there are two other reasons... one, the car is making a
"funny" noise from the right front wheel when it corners; and two, we're supposed to get some really nasty weather tonight and tomorrow. Sleet, freezing rain, some snow. Not good weather for a trip, heh.
