Notes

01:11 12/29/00..

Self-fulfilling prophesy or just the way things work? I didn't get to sleep until after 14:00 yesterday, and I hit the snooze alarm twice before I could drag my sorry self out of bed.

Cat scratches are like paper cuts... they continue to hurt for a long time.

And I also discovered a few on my legs that I hadn't noticed before. They hurt too.

Not a bad night again, but a little busier. About how I like it, actually. Started writing earlier, got interrupted and never got back to it. The keyboard that I use at work is pretty funky... cracker-box funky. I'm so used to this cirque keyboard (microsoft Natural-style) that I find it difficult to type on even a good regular keyboard.

I really didn't touch-type at all until I got this... kept crossing my fingers over and got them all confused. In fact, I still can't touch-type if I'm thinking about it.

And I finally got the call from the supervisor that I wanted...I'm off Wednesday and Thursday nights, go back on Friday... so I'm heading for OK tonight, and for Huntsville in the morning.

It's kinda sad... this will be the first New Years' eve that Karen and I haven't been together since before we got married...

On the other hand, I will get to see JD and his new GF, Annette. I'm looking forward to meeting her... we had a very pleasant e-mail exchange a few weeks ago, and she impressed me greatly, and I'm sure that she will impress me in person too.

So now the only hitch is the weather. Well, that and the vehicle. I'm planning on driving the Subaru, but Karen told me last night that it was making a funny sound when she accelerated. I discovered that the right front tire was very low and I hope that that was the problem. And as far as the weather goes, t'hell with it. I'm sure that I can make it down there and I'm not gonna worry about getting back.

So now I have to figger out if I want to take a nap before I start out or not. Right now I'm thinking not... I'm pretty keyed up and anxious to get started. I think that I'll pack and then see how I feel about it...

Regardless, those of you on my notify list will not get notified for the next week. I will most likely keep up the entries from Texas, however, so keep checkin' back...

Thanx for being here!
