Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

I just got done working an evening shift... man, I hate evening shifts. Not the work... the work is OK, just like the work on third shift... but the people that I work with are always bitching about something. No, they're always bitching about everything.

On the other hand, I'm not in a position financially to turn down any hours. And I can really ignore my co-worker's bitching with just a little effort.

Anyway, Karen and I were in the middle of re-arranging the kitchen... we moved the table from the kitchen into the dining room, and I went out and bought an extended counter top for one of the spare cabinet bases that we had kinda left over... so it looks kinda like a bar. with the base at one end and a (temporary) 2X4 holding up the other end. It looks pretty good, really, and I think that it will be useful.

O'yeah, we were in the middle of this and the phone rings... it's the hospital, one of the evening shift people is sick, so could I come in at 16:30... of course I could. Time-and-a-half, baby!

My ideas for this afternoon and evening were blown, though... I'd planned on taking a nap, then staying up all night, and the former was impossible and the latter can't happen, 'cause the former didn't.

Karen's face looks worse, but feels better, as does her leg. Poor black and blue woman! She still won't go out in public, of course...

So that means that someone else has to go to the store and get the turkey, and that was supposed to be me, but I haven't yet, and I hate to think of doing it tomorrow, but it must be done anyway, and I'm the only one who can do it... well, no, Kim could do it. Maybe that's what'll happen...

So... back to work tomorrow night. This week off has been pretty much wasted... but now I've had all of the sickness that I will tolerate this year, and I have all of the rest of the year to enjoy being healthy.

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
