Notes

Well, I feel like a fool. Luckily, it only cost me $85 this time. I've been made a fool of for much larger amounts...

Anyway, I woke up yesterday at 16:40 and I noticed right away that there was still no heat. I called up College Hill and they said that they hadn't been able to get ahold of me...

I told the lady that I had told the guy to come on in, the door would be unlocked, and she said that he hadn't told her that, it was their policy to call and make sure that somebody was home before they sent anyone out.

I asked her if there was any way that he could come on out, she said that they quit at 17:00... no.

Well, I pretty much blew my stack at her... told her that I would call someone else.

Damn, I hate being rude to people... I don't do it very often, and I almost always regret it.

I finished draining the hot tub and went on to work, leaving Karen home shivering. It was a pretty good night, no hard running, which was nice since I didn't much feel like running.

Being rude had eaten on me all night long, so I decided to call them back. I called right at 08:00 and I told the female that answered the phone my name and told her that I was sorry that I was rude to her yesterday.

"Oh, you weren't rude to me!" she said, "This is the answering service... but that was a pretty good apology..."

So I waited ten minutes and called back and apologized to the right lady... she was appreciative, and by the end of the conversation, she agreed to send the guy out here on his first call.

He got here with the transformer and relays that he thought he needed, and it didn't work. Finally, he discovered that the ground wasn't grounded well but only intermittently. The connection was in the box, and he didn't really want to get into it so I fixed it... and lo! The damned thing works!

The house is heating up quite nicely now, I have even taken my coat off. Fingers and toes take quite a bit longer, though...

Thanx for being here!
