It was hard getting out of bed this morning. These bones aren't up to spending two days in a car any more, I guess.
We didn't get up really early, either, about 09:30 or so... early enough to get the trash out, though. Fortuitously, we had stopped by Walgreens on the way home last night, and I ran in and grabbed a gallon of milk, so we had cereal for breakfast.
I had planned to get some outside work done, but that didn't happen. Tomorrow it's supposed to rain, so I guess that it just won't get done, darn it. I just really didn't feel like doing anything at all today, so I didn't.
Well, I did do something... I took the hot tub pump in to get fixed. It'll be a week or so before it's done, though. Looking forward to using it again.
Bills piled up while we were gone, as did email. Thousands of emails. Well, 1200 anyway, most of which I deleted unread... if you're waiting to hear from me, it might be a while.
While we were in North Carolina, there were some digital pictures taken with Dan and Lynn's digital camera (which I would almost die for... it's a coolpix 900??? Really neat)... here are two of my favorites...
Karen and me... one of the best pictures we've ever had taken!
Brother Dan and me
Karen picked up the grandkids after school and they were here until Kim picked them up when she got off work and then she left with Patrick and Lacee stayed behind. I was really not aware of what was going on (as usual) so I was surprised when Kim came back Patrickless... Kim had taken him over to Steve, who took him to soccer practice.
And Lacee wanted to go out to eat at Ruby Tuesdays, and, even though we're sick of eating out, we went along with her plans... that happens quite often, actually. The four of us had a nice time eating and carrying on... Lacee was flirting outrageously with the waiter.
O'yeah, she lost her other front tooth while we were gone. She pulled it herself, no fuss whatsoever.
We came home and they left immediately, knowing that we were going to watch the presidential debates.
Speaking of which, I was pretty disappointed. I really wanted Bush to fall flat on his face, in fact I was expecting him to, and he didn't. I didn't think that he did nearly as well as Gore on most issues, but the important one, getting people to like him, I though that he did real well.
No, he didn't convince me... I still dislike him. I don't really like Gore, either, but there's a difference between not liking and disliking, y'know.
All in all, I thought it was at best a draw... I'm trying to be dispassionate about it. Well, I am pretty dispassionate about it, since I don't like either of them, but the issues, in most cases, are important to me. I'm passionate about some of the issues.
I had really wanted to get some catch-up on vacation entries done, especially the one for Saturday when I met Renee. I was planning on not reading her entry until I wrote mine, but I got impatient... Her entry was really sweet, I thought, and so did Karen. However, I wanted to wait until I got the pix that I took back... I know that you will all want proof that this meeting really happened.
And it's way past my bedtime. More tomorrow...
