104F right now. Very hot. The weather service has issued a t-storm watch but so far there's nothing on the radar and nothing in the sky. Tomorrow is supposed to be a bunch cooler, I'm looking forward to that... the heat relief might extend clear down to the Dallas area.

But no rain for Oklahoma.

I stayed up way too late last night, or rather this morning... about 04:30 before I got to sleep, and I awoke at 10:30. Got a few little things done around the house, but I didn't feel like starting on any of the big projects...

I haven't mentioned smoking. That was on purpose, I don't want to jinx myself. I have had a few people write to cheer me on, though, and I really appreciate that.

The first time I tried to quit after I started this journal, one of my readers was very disappointed that I failed. He wasn't really used to people failing in their endeavors, I guess. Then he figgered out that it was real-life, not fiction. It didn't come out the way I wanted it to, either.

19:56...
I am so pissed right now.

It. Isn't. FAIR!

Karen and I went out to eat at my favorite chinese place tonight. On the way there, we observed the huge thunderhead that had built up between here and Lawrence. I was hoping that it would edge back this way just a little... but no.

It was still very hot when we got done eating and left the restaurant, but it had cooled off about ten degrees F by the time we got home... about ten minutes. There were huge clouds in the southwest too... and I was hopeful, since that's usually where we get our storms from.

But no. The storms are all going southeast tonight. And they're forming just east of Topeka, like they seem to do lately, and then dropping all of that rain elsewhere.

Dammit! I can hear the thunder! This is maddening!

O'well. It's cooler anyway.

More tomorrow.

Thanx for being here!
