Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

And again. These nights just seem to be piling up on me. Saturday night was nice, but I've had to pay for it with three nights from hell. And it ain't fair, not at all.

The difference between last night and the previous two nights was enormous in one respect, however. Last night was my last night for a week. That makes a lot of difference in my attitude.

But my back and legs and feet hurt... and so does my head. I smashed it on the tube-head when I was trying to move too fast doing an ankle exam on an elderly lady. She laughed, and I had to laugh too, after I shook the cobwebs out of my brain. I quit laughing when the headache started, though.

And my head's still sore, but I didn't lacerate it... no blood whatsoever. Just pain.

And it seems like almost every patient that I had last night needed to be lifted or pushed or pulled, and stuff like that gets to my back after a while. Especially after the 425-pound drunk who was immobilized on a spine board... there were no muscular nurses around to help, either, just a coupla puny ones and one average-sized one.

I got off exactly on time and headed home... Joe was coming over to borrow my ex-car-go (car-topper-storage-thingie) and I wanted to be sure that I could find the keys for the locks on it... and I did, but the locks were corroded enough so that the keys wouldn't work anyway, but I filled them up with WD-40. Joe came over and we hooked it on his 4X4 and it'll work really good for him... he's heading out for a two-week camping trip in the western states.

So, he's got the keys for the locks and maybe they'll loosen up or maybe he'll have to have them cut off... I thought that locks weren't supposed to rust, I guess that I thought wrong.

Well, it's after 10:00 now, almost 11:00, and I think that I'll take a little nap. I'm gonna be heading out for Enid whenever I wake up, whether it's tonight or in the morning. I just talked to mom and warned her that I was coming, and she sounded surprised. I don't like to give her too much advanced warning...

I'm planning on being back Saturday sometime... I might update from Enid if I can get mom's computer working... otherwise, I'll just catch up.

O'yeah! Today is JD's 25th birthday! Happy birthday, boy!

Thanx for being here!
