Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Well, I went a little overboard yesterday... I was in bed and asleep before 08:00, and Karen woke me up at... 19:00. I was supposed to be at work at 19:00, dammit!

I don't think that I set the alarm even.

So I got to work a half-hour late. I did get a shower, but midway through the shift I realized that I hadn't put on deodorant... luckily, I keep some in my locker for just such occasions!

And it was a very busy night for a Tuesday. I did a CT exam that I hadn't done before and I did good, although I had to call the regular call person to find out what they did with a certain command in the new software. Other than that, nothing interesting until about 06:00, when we had a lifestar (helicopter) patient come in from an MVA.

The guy had run off of the road with his car, which vehicle allegedly had a meth lab in the trunk. The accident was unwitnessed and he was a ways from the road, so he might have been there for quite a while before being discovered.

He was very, very reluctant to give more than his first name, and he had no ID with him or in the car. Interesting.

The cops got a name by IDing the tag, but there were some discrepancies evidently, because they didn't seem really sure. But they will find out. They have their ways...

And speaking of cops... well, almost... I have this friend who is a security guard at the hospital. I have been listening to him for years spouting off about how the republicans and everything that they do is good and vice-versa for the democrats.

Well, he caught me at a bad time, I guess. He started telling me how it wasn't really McCarthy that started the witch hunts in the fifties, it was the democrats.

So I told him that he was full of shit and walked off.

I'm getting so that I really can't stand conservatives any more, especially closed-minded ones. It's just as bad as religion in that respect... say anything that's not in line with what they believe and they're all over you.

This is the second friend that I've lost to this phenomena recently... I'm getting much less tolerant to intolerance.

I try very hard to be open minded about everything, including politics. Until I have my mind made up, of course... like religion. If god came out from wherever it is that he hides and asked me to worship him I would at least consider it before I laughed in his face.

There are no blacks and whites in politics... if there were, it would all be black. But it isn't, and there's no way that it could be. Politicians, as much as they hate to act like it, are human, with human failings. Well, I should say that they hate to get caught acting like humans... re: Prez Clinton.

However, I doubt that anyone will be able to dig up any dirt on Gore... well, I will be surprised if they do. And GeeDubya seems to have contained the earlier rumors of cocaine use... the rivers in Texas are wide, and they are deep... and so are the prisons. And the wide open spaces are both wide and open. Lotsa dirt that nobody would notice being disturbed. Dead men tell no tales.

Lest I be accused of starting rumors, I'm just stating the facts. All of the above statements are true and verifiable.

Any inferences made from the juxtaposition of the above facts are the sole responsibility of the reader. What would I know about Texas politics?

Politics... opinions on politics are like all other opinions... everyone has one, and they all stink but yours. No... they all stink except for mine.

Most of my political views are lightly held. For instance, I thought that Clinton was a sleaze when he was elected... well, he's still a sleaze, but he has done a good job of doing what he was elected for. I really didn't expect that out of him.

And I feel that Gore will carry on, and that Bush would lead us back to Reaganism, which Bushs' dad tried to carry on. We got really tired of it then, tired enough to elect a sleaze.

And now it's time for a little nap.

Thanx for being here!
