Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

We Kansans are a sensitive, caring people... so, when the rest of the world laughed at us over the evolution/creation thing, we were hurt.

Deeply, deeply hurt.

So hurt, in fact, that most of the state school board was voted out... the ones that were against teaching evolution, anyway.

Yep, the moderate conservatives will be taking over.

And there will be some changes coming down the pike.

The world will have to find something else about us to laugh about, even though that probably won't be that hard of a task...

And, speaking of Governor Bush from Texas, GeeDub I guess he is... people wonder why I dislike and distrust him so much.

It has to do with his father, mostly. His father was asked about atheists when he was president, and he replied that they shouldn't be allowed to vote.

Anyway, I don't think that bad apples fall very far from the, uh, bush. OK, so apples don't grow on bushes, I know that, whaddya think I am, stupid? Wait, don't answer that...

And his (and Gore's) idea about teaming the gumment up with "Faith-based organizations" really bites a big one; for one thing, these organizations, if they want to help so bad, can volunteer at the already established government organizations... and for another thing, why can't they just come out into the open and say churches? Do they think that we're too fucking stupid to know what they're talking about?

Well, of course they do... they're politicians, after all. They think that we're all stupid.

OK, enough politics. On to my new resolve to compute less, to smoke less, to work harder around the house and to be a genuinely pleasant person.

Well, not much progress made. Yep, I'm smoking less... and I'm not playing solitaire. As it does so often, though, my ambition left me on the way home. I need to figger out how to keep the energy levels up once I get home.

And I don't know why I threw that phrase about becoming a pleasant person. I have no ambitions in that direction; in fact, I need to work on the opposite. I've noticed that squeaky wheels get grease, and I'm in need of a lot of grease. Polyunsaturated for me, if you please.

Work last night was work. Ten hours of one routine patient after another without anything of interest at all. Made me tired, but then I only got about five hours of sleep yesterday, and that made me tired too.

So I think that I'll go to bed and read a while... Kim gave me the first Harry Potter book, so I'll get started on that one...

More tomorrow...

Thanx for being here!
