Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

And the plan worked! I actually got up, having gone to bed at 02:30. We went fishing and caught some fish... I got about ten, JD got maybe four. They were spotty, not concentrated anywhere We started of using buzz baits since it was cloudy with no wind, and we got most of our fish with them... a little later, I changed over to a Carolina rig and got a couple-three... the biggest of the day was probably about three pounds, with at least two being that size.

It was fun. I need to do that more often. And I had fun talking with JD.

I think that he's decided on going back with his mother... they will stop by Erie (KS) to see her parents, who he hasn't seen in a few years.

Last night he and I were on the front deck talking, and he was telling me about this band... the (something) trio, was so cool... and I realized that he'd used buzz words (spiritual, higher level of consciousness, etc) to describe them describing their music. I remarked on this and told him that I was sorry that I was such a cynic...

But I'm not really sorry... cynics are here to protect people against preachers and other charlatans. On the other hand, if I weren't a cynic, I could probably be having more fun, being able to believe in fairies and UFOs and god and stuff like that.

I do have plenty of fun being a cynic, though. Being a cynic isn't really all that easy, y'know... besides natural talent, it takes a modicum of intelligence and a lot of perseverance. And luck. Because without the luck, one wouldn't have time to develop the intelligence or talent... for a big part of being cynical is tact.... and that takes time too. Many cynics don't have the luck so they get ostracized and wind up just being grumpy.

And it is, for the most part, a thankless job. And the pay is really shitty, too.

But I'll just keep on with it anyway.

More in the morning...

Thanx for being here!
