Natterings, Notions

Notes

Some way or another (probably simple stupidity) I've been using today's date for my yesterday link.

Gotta quit doing that.

And other stupid things, too, while we're on the subject...

Last night I forgot to turn the water off and I watered the south side of the house for ten hours.

Before I left on an errand this morning, I turned on the water for the north side, and when I came back, the connection to the spigot had blown, so I watered the foundation under the deck for 90 minutes.

So, I decided that it was time to quit doing stuff for a while.

I got up shortly after 07:00 this morning... it was a beautiful morning. Actually, if was a pretty beautiful day, the humidity was down, even though the temps were still way up there. Anyway, I fiddled around for an hour or so, then I went out to buy a hole saw. My estimate was a little off... it was $23, not $20. But it'll last me for a long time, at least until I lose it...

JD was out pretty late last night, so I let him sleep while I puttered with the computers a bit. Then, about 14:00, Tyler shows up, so I had him wake JD up. Tyler didn't hang around for long, though...

While he was here, I had him sign his check (for $20.41!) from MP3.com over to me so I could cash it for him, and he pointed out that I'd already given him $20 for it a coupla months ago... I have raised some honest kids.

So I went to the bank and put in my paycheck and Tyler's check and another check that I'd found in the pile on the desk... a $30 refund from Western Digital from the last HD that I'd bought.

And, perusing the pile on the desk, I decided that it was time to do the checkbook and pay bills... not a really fun thing to do, but necessary.

Then JD and I started working on the sink in the bathroom. It went pretty well for a while...

But my streak of plumbing luck has come to an end.

Yep... I had to send JD to the hardware store... I'd got a 1 1/2 inch fitting when I needed a 1-inch one.

We decided to dry-fit everything together, make sure that it would work, then glue it. Well, we did that, except for the gluing part... my glue had evaporated. And it was too late to go back to the store, so we put it together without and it seems to work just fine... no, I'm not gonna leave it that way, this is just for tonight.

I also put a rubber binding/hose clamp dealie around the drain for the tub... it has been leaking a little ever since we've lived here, and somebody had originally fixed it with plumber's putty, but that finally disintegrated...

Enough of the plumbing. I've got another problem...

I've had a plethora of posterior pimples for a coupla months now. My sugar intake has been way down, as has my chocolate intake. Normally, I wouldn't mention this... not that I'm ashamed of having pimples on my butt, you understand... but now I've got one on the bridge of my nose. And it hurts.

Like, it really hurts! Especially when I have to wear glasses. Which is more and more often lately, it seems.

Anyway, I thought that I was going to get over having pimples some day... I first thought that it would be when I was 16, then 21, then 25, then 40... I guess it just ain't ever gonna happen.

O'well.

The good news for the day is...
There is not a shred of evidence that indicates that life is serious...

Thanx for being here!
