Natterings, Notions
and
Notes

Short night, long day again. And again, nothing real accomplished.

Well, I did get Linux installed on JDs old machine. I'm getting better at this Linux crap.

Using x-windows this time, though... Gnome, it is. I kinda don't like it much, and I'll probably go back to the text-only one.

JD and I watched Dogma last night... pretty good, but the sound was really bad on the copy of the tape that we had. And it wasn't nearly atheistic enough for my blood, but what the hell.

So, I was up until about 03:00, and JD was up until 06:00... but I got up at about 09:15, and he didn't until I woke him at 14:00... no wonder we don't really get anything done!

Nasty day today... the heat index is still around 100F, and it got over 110 earlier... and we did miss the rain last night. No rain for us, by golly! Maybe tonight... the radar looks about the same, so it'll go north again. Actually, there is a good storm brewing in KC right now... seems to be building on the spot. And we will get another miss.

Been doing some more reading about GW Bush. Seems like he's the kind of guy who puts god above country. God, of course, told him to do that, I'm sure. Reminds me of when Kennedy was running... people were saying that the Pope would be running the country.

Scary.. just plain scary. Especially if you're me. I know that you have aspirations...

A little local politics... the school board here is buying part of the old Topeka State Hospital grounds with plans to built a multi-million dollar... sports complex.

Fuck education. Just give them a place to play and they'll be all right. This is not the same school board that's against evolution, just the local yahoos.

I just don't see how a sports complex is going to help anything... there are lots of ways to improve education, and that's not one of them.

OK, enough for one day, time for some sleep. I'm gonna get JD up early tomorrow, maybe we'll get some stuff done. Like real work.

Thanx for being here!
