A much better night.

I was hoping for a better night... I didn't want Sherry, who I'm orienting to work opposite shifts from me, to think that all nights were going to be like Monday night. She might decide that she doesn't want to do this...

All of the code red patients from Monday night were still alive and doing better last night... I was happy to see that. I've learned to be pessimistic about these things, so I'm delightfully surprised when I'm wrong about my predictions.

I would like to be constantly proven wrong, but then I'd have to start changing my predictions, and then I would be unhappy when I was wrong, and that just wouldn't be right, would it?

Wait, I got confused there. Or did I?

Nah, that was you that got confused.

I slept hard for ten hours yesterday... when I got up, Karen was out, so I didn't get to see her before I left for work... and she had to go in early this morning, so I missed her then too.

I do hope that I'll get to see her tonight.

Weird. My computer just lost power and shut down, then started right back up. I will treat this as an ill omen, and ignore it until it happens again...

But I will save frequently.

A quote that I saw recently: "All of the things that you can count don't necessarily count, and some things that you can't count really count."

Well, that's not a direct quote, but a paraphrase. It's still OK to put it in quote marks, though, isn't it?

I better go to sleep now.

Thanx for being here!
