Natterings, Notions

Notes

Twelve hours of sleep makes Doug a happy guy. Well, happier, anyway...

I've got another reason to be happy... Tyler will be going to a rehab program Monday... and he and I will be going to a narc-anon meeting tomorrow. It's in a church...

I think that he finally realized that I was sincere.

I'm really happy about this... it's like a load off of my back. It is, of course, way too early to be celebrating... this is only the first step, after all.

But what the hell, I'll just celebrate the first step then.

Tyler and I and Karen went out to the New China Inn last night... I love that place, and so does Tyler. Karen is kinda luke-warm about it, though, but she seems to enjoy it every time we go out there.

My restaurant philosophy is... if it's good, keep going back. I don't need any new places to eat until the good ones that I know go bad, which they all eventually do. Karen's philosophy is just the opposite, I think... if it's new, try it out. She enjoys variety, I enjoy stability. I like to know where everything is, what everything is, when I put something on my plate I know that I'll enjoy it. If I order an omelette someplace and I like it, I'm pretty sure that the next time I want an omelette, I'll go back there again.

I lasted maybe an hour after we came home last night before I had to go to sleep. Then I slept until about 02:00 and got up and went to the bathroom and checked my email, then back to bed until 09:25 or something like that.

And that reminds me... I only had a coupla pieces of toast for breakfast, and I'm hungry. And it's past lunch time, too. Need food!

Tyler has mowed the lawn, and he's now putting grass seed out in some of the bare spots. It's kinda rainy today, nothing major, just sprinkles so far... hot and humid and cloudy.

And I have a long list of stuff that I need to get done, way too much for one day, so I'm gonna get started... after I eat something.

Thanx for being here!
